Comentario:
En el DY Patil Stadium la cuenta atrás para la llegada del debut de la selección sub-17 en el Campeonato del Mundo de la India llegaba a su fin. El ambiente, desde los instantes previos al duelo, estuvo a la altura de la gran cita que suponía disputar por primera vez la máxima competición de selecciones a nivel mundial.
La igualdad de fuerzas entre las subcampeonas de sus respectivas confederaciones se convirtió en la tónica dominante del primer periodo. Carla Camacho, tras brillar en una gran jugada individual, tuvo la ocasión más clara para España, mientras que Sofía se convertía en protagonista tras desviar un disparo lejano de Colombia.
El guión no varío en el segundo periodo. Pero el conjunto dirigido por Kenio Gonzalo luchó y confió hasta el último momento. Jone, tras una maravillosa jugada, daba la primera victoria del Mundial a España en el minuto 85.
